Timber Tests
Decay such as wet rot, dry rot, and woodworm in timber isn’t always outwardly visible; wood commonly decays from the inside, due to moisture ingress along the timber fibres.
Where softening of the wood is seen on the timber surface, it is important to assess the extent of deterioration inside the timber. Wherever possible we avoid incurring further damage and weakening of the element from removing a core of wood for testing, and instead rely on less invasive methods to make necessary assessments.
