Lifting Beam Tests
We specialise in rapid mobilisation for testing of lifting beams in accordance with BS 2853, 'The design and testing of steel overhead runway beams'. We test all types of lifting beam including:
• Lifting beams (usually steel beams) at the top of lift shafts, used to support passenger or goods lifts
• Lifting eyes may also be fixed into a concrete soffit at the top of a shaft, for supporting lift equipment
• Runway beams are also common, fitted with a trolley that runs along the beam, to transport loads
The test ensures that lifting beams are adequately supported and strong enough to resist the bending force created by the load. All lifting beams / eyes need testing and marking with their safe working load prior to use. A certificate of examination is awarded for all beam/ lift equipment that passes testing.
